Here Comes That Rainy Day Feelin’ Again

Ian had a nice four day weekend for the holiday and wouldn’t you know it rained ALL four days. We spent our 4th of July huddled under tarps and screen tents. At least the weather was warm even with the rain… Small favors, I suppose.

We discovered that Gabe absolutely HATES fireworks, so we dropped him off with Uncle Dan for the night. Even a bottlerocket makes Gabe panic and run away screaming. Poor little buddy just really does not like loud noises of any kind – unless it comes out of his mouth. Then he is absolutely okay with it. Go figure.

I am so excited for tonight; Big Brother 12 is starting! I loved last season, it was so dramatic and fun to watch. I am so glad that Jordan won it.

I am also very excited that I finally received my Financial Aid voucher from school so I could order my Early Fall semester books. I’m taking Foundations of Math, Intro to Clinical Skills, Office Procedures 1 and Composition. I’m excited about the Clinical Skills class the most, but still glad I have another two weeks of vacation left. :)

This weekend we have a birthday party Saturday afternoon and Ian’s 10 year class reunion to go to later that night. Next week we have my school’s Night At The Loggers and Ian’s work’s Race Night. The following week is the kids’ annual check up on Monday and hopefully on Saturday we are going to my first ever Brewers game!

Cold Day In July

I cannot believe it is July already! I also cannot believe that it is only 70 degrees outside. This summer has been chilly and rainy. We’ve only had a couple hot days so far; it’s ridiculous. Due to the crappy weather, our summer activities have been seriously hindered. We’ve gone canoeing once, had a handful of cookouts and went to the annual Father’s Day horse pull. That’s it. No camping, fishing or water parks. Though we are thinking of taking the kids to an indoor water park in a few weeks. It’s in a hotel and is also equipped with indoor laser tag, mini golf and an arcade. Sounds like a pretty good time!

I have no idea what we are going to do for 4th of July weekend. Gabe hates fireworks and to be honest, I could do without them, too. Mariah LOVES fireworks and Ian likes setting them off. My mom offered to watch Gabe overnight so we can take Mariah somewhere to watch the fireworks, so I’m sure that’s what will happen. Yay me.

I’m so excited tomorrow is Friday, I love Fridays. :) This one might suck though; we have to pay Dish and Century Link. I also have to turn off our long distance on the house phone since Ian and I got cell phones through US Cellular last Sunday. I got the Samsung Freeform and LOVE it! So yeah, we don’t need long distance on the house phone anymore, but I don’t want to turn the entire line off. It’s rare that our kids are babysat at our house, but just in case, I want there to  be a phone in the house. You never know what will happen.
